FAQQ&APlease take your time in reading this before you ask me any of these questions. Your mail will be ignored if you repeat the question that's already up here.Quick links:
Doremi-relatedThis section is simply about the airing of the show itself, like where to watch it and possibilities of other series being dubbed for the United States. For in-show related rumors, please check the rumors section. Please be aware that there are some spoilers on that page, so click at your own risk.Where did you watch the episodes? I used to get RAW episodes from Star Hedgehog, but he closed his site and IRC channel ever since the series was licensed in the US. Ojamajo Doremi is licensed and can be locally viewed in Arabia, Catalonia, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Portugal, the Phillipines, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States. Japan occasionally has reruns of the show. Check your local listings to see which channel and what time the show airs. You can also check the list of what channels I know the shows on located below. My knowledge is very limited about the show broadcasters, so I apologize if I can't be much of help.
If you're looking for the original version, Doremi Fansubs is a good place to look for good quality subtitles in English. Other sites like PummelDex offer many Japanese clips from the show. If you're on a P2P program, chances are you can find episodes on it too. I am in no way responsible if you get caught by the law though. ♡ The last way you can see the show is to buy the DVDs. CDJapan sells legal, official copies, but they are not subbed in any language and can only be played with a Region 2 DVD player. They are also pricey because Ojamajo Doremi DVD production has slowed since the show ended a long time ago. Chinese bootlegs are also available on some other sites. This is not recommended if you're new to the show, otherwise, you've just wasted $30-$40 if you've realized that you don't really like it. What happened to "Magical DoReMi" on 4Kids TV? Magical DoReMi was pulled off 4Kids TV's programming block in mid-2006 and was also pulled off again when it reappeared on 4Kids TV's successor, The CW4Kids, in July 2010. As Magical DoReMi is seen to be part of the television block for 4Kids' latest programming block, Toonzai!, there may be a chance of it coming back. When will "Magical DoReMi" come back [on US television]? Is there a chance of it coming back? I don't know about its future, and I can't say for sure whether it'll come back or not. (I'm not even in charge of its production anyway!) The best you can do is ask 4Kids or Toei; while I do keep track of news and stuff, I am often the last one to know about these topics, unfortunately. Currently, my best bet is that Magical DoReMi will appear on 4Kids' latest programming block, Toonzai!, which will replace The CW4Kids. As for now, the news is up in the air. Did "Magical DoReMi" ever get a local DVD release? Were there uncut/unedited DVDs? Magical Doremi did not get an official boxset release, and the only thing remotely close to a DVD release are DVD discs that came along with one of the US-produced dolls. They only have one episode each. There were no uncut/subbed DVDs — if you found them in English, they're bootlegs since they're not official products recognized by the creators and owners of the franchise. If any of you are wondering if there are going to be uncut DVDs, the answer is most likely no. The reason for this is I don't see them selling well in the United States, and 4Kids currently don't release anything uncut. Will the other parts of the series/the movies/the games be localized? I get this question a lot, and to tell you the truth, I don't know. I work with neither 4Kids nor Toei, so if you want a straight answer, you should ask them instead. All I pretty much can do is speculate because I don't know everything. And what are my speculations? Well, let's see. No press release mentioned which part of the franchise 4Kids has licensed, so they may or may not have rights to the other series. The movies seem unlikely since they're pretty short anyway. The games are probably never going to make it here, since most of them are outdated. Why was episode 30 of the first series cut from the 4Kids' dub? Some fans of the Ojamajo Doremi series have been rather upset about episode 30 ("I Want to Meet a Ghost!") cut entirely from the English dub. No one knows the exact reason why 4Kids cut it, but there's a couple possibilities: religion and morbid themes.
Dubbing this episode would require tons of editing, so it's just easier to omit it from airing anyway. The episode was also a filler, so it's not like it affected the storyline anyhow. The only important thing in that episode that is recurrent is the fact that Hazuki learns to chant Majorika's name when faced with her phobia of ghosts, which can be easily edited into something else. Shame that this episode never made it on air, but it didn't interest me anyway so it's a 50-50 situation. Site-relatedCan I use (...) for my site? This site has been through years and years of combinations of hard work, endless time, research, and revision, as well as its share of stealing incidents. I'm growing quite hesitant of what can be used and may sound a bit strict, but I'll try to be lenient as possible. I generally will let you use something if you ask me first; I absolutely love getting e-mails about this site and I would like to know where my work and contributions will be going to. In a nutshell, I ask that you take as much as I allow you to and give proper credit where it is due. If I have information that came from another site, credit that site instead, otherwise the original creator won't get the credit he or she deserves. Same things go for message boards, by the way. I've seen plagiarizing incidents at forums and message boards as well, not just on websites. If you really want to post something interesting, just give a link back to the site.
If you've owned a website for more than a couple of years and people kept stealing content from you, you'd be a little angry too. I try not to get too provoked about it, but I do get really upset when my content gets stolen... so, please don't be one of those spoilsports, the kind that no one invites to parties because they ruin everything for everyone. For stealing incidents, why won't you add a no-right click script on your pages? There are many ways to get around the no-right click scripts, and they are annoying anyway. I linked you, so will you link me back? I appreciate you for linking me, but I won't link you unless your page is Ojamajo Doremi-related; I think the purpose of links is to provide external information on related subjects. Can you give me MP3s of (...)? Where can I find MP3s of (...)? I may post them on my site if I want to, but I will not personally give them to you, especially if I don't know you. If you're so desperate, please support the animation studio by buying the merchandise. Some great places to purchase CDs are CDJapan and YesAsia. These sites ship worldwide and it's possible to buy without a credit card, and it really isn't my fault if your parents won't let you. Will you ever shut this site down? Fear not, visitor! This site will always (attempt to) remain online unless I have no place to host it or if Toei (or any company legally holding the Ojamajo Doremi franchise) requests me to shut it down. When will you update (...)? I understand that some of you are looking forward to more up-to-date information online and I will update everything eventually, but naturally, this site is not the only thing I am busy with. Keep checking back at this site; I will always post updates! What do you use to make your sites? Most of the work was done by the glorious Adobe Photoshop and coded via Notepad. Occasionally, for little graphics such as animated pixels, I use Microsoft Paintbrush to draw them, and Adobe ImageReady to animate them. I hope that helps! Why'd you take down (...)? Royal Patraine has endured years and years of old and new additions; some of the pages that used to be online are no longer available. On most occasions, I took down them due to lack of interest (either from me, or visitors). What happened to the forum? Royal Patraine used to have a forum from 2005 to 2008, but ever since its relaunch, the forum has been removed. This is because I am not a frequent browser on forums and don't have time to take care of one. While there are such things as moderators, I only trust close friends to assist, most of whom are no longer interested in Ojamajo Doremi. If you are looking for an Ojamajo Doremi exclusive forum, excellent places to discuss this series (and other topics) are at magicaldoremi.net or Doremi Fansubs. May I help out with your site? Royal Patraine, from the start, has always been and will continue to be a one-girl staff website. I've co-staffed on some websites before, and I usually end up doing everything, not to mention that Royal Patraine is a bit too special for me to start sharing with other people. Basically, I'm just not used to the idea and will continue to work on it by myself. That's not to say that I don't appreciate help, because I love all the help I can get! The majority of what I do on this site is just for visitors and it pleases me that many people would like to contribute to this site. It makes me very happy that some people are willing to help out. You can help out by submitting information that isn't already on this site as long as they are work-safe and 100% done by you. I will give proper credit to your name, your e-mail, and/or your website. Any contribution is welcome, and I even plan to open up a fan corner where people can submit their own reviews, opinions, and fanwork! MiscellaneousCan you show me how to (...)? How do you (...)? Can you help me with (...)?All I can confirm is that it really depends on what the problem is. If it's just where I got my resources from, or just a coding error you need some help with, little stuff like that I can do. Remember, I'm not your fairy godmother (awwww), so I can't magically solve everything; I'm also a pretty busy person so I can't check and do everything for you. I'm also terrible at explaining and trying to teach someone via the Internet only complicates things. There are also a lot of tutorials on the Internet that are better at explaining than I'll ever be. I'd advise you to look for some first. Can we be friends? Sorry, you don't ask for friendship. Friendship is a bond of trust between people. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like making new friends, it's just that most of the time when people ask me this, they don't really seem to mean it. If you catch me around someplace and have some respect for me as well as yourself (don't be a whiny pushover), you'll probably have a good chance of becoming a friend. Will you visit my website? Will you join my forum? Will you sign my guestbook? I thank you for visiting mine, but if your sole purpose of contacting me is merely to advertise your site, I won't like it because I find it somewhat rude. To me, it equates getting junk e-mail or junk postal mail — they're advertisements. I certainly don't mind visiting your site (as long as it's work-safe and doesn't crash my computer), but I find it unnecessary to contact me solely for advertisement. I understand that sometimes it is hard to gain visitors for your website, but you should advertise it to a group of people instead of just one person. As far as forums go, I appreciate your invitation, but please don't ask me to join. These days I'm really inactive on any forum since I'm busy with real-life situations, and forums generally don't peak my interest, although I do lurk at some. If you really need to contact me about anything, e-mail is the best way, and there are bound to be more sociable people interested in joining. |
