Synopsis
A woman who has been following Aiko all morning gives an unfortunately late Sugiyama a letter to give to her. Aiko realizes its sender is none other than Atsuko, her own mother from Hannan City in Osaka. In the letter, Aiko's mother informs her that she wrote her many letters and wanted to see her before she had to go back to work, but Aiko arrives too late — her mother had already departed to Osaka believing that Aiko still hasn't forgiven her for leaving the family.
Aiko becomes upset at her father when she discovers that he had been concealing her mother's letters. She runs away from home, but is taken in by Doremi's family. Aiko confides to Doremi that her parents divorced because of an argument over her mother's working habits — at a young age, Aiko had fallen off a jungle gym while playing by herself and became hospitalized. When her father begged her mother to quit her job to look after her, she refused. Since then, they fought, and when they finally divorced, Aiko was originally going to live with her mother. However, at the sight of her lonely father, who had no one else to take care of him, she refused and wanted to live with him.
Doremi and Hazuki help Aiko look for her mother back at her hometown, Osaka, and with the help of magic, find retirement home her mother works at. However, Aiko still remembers how much her father loves her and can't bring herself to face her. Instead, she distracts herself by giving a tour of Osaka's attractions to Doremi and Hazuki. The two remind Aiko of her purpose of coming to Osaka, and she reluctantly seeks out the apartments where her mother lives.
When Aiko sees her mother nursing a baby, she believes that she has remarried and runs away, disowning her. In reality, Aiko's mother was only taking care of her busy neighbors' child. Aiko is distraught at this "revelation", but cheers up after seeing Doremi and Hazuki. While Doremi and Hazuki comfort her, Aiko's worried father drives by with his taxi, correctly suspecting that she might have gone to Osaka to find her mother. As the two comically argue, they reconcile and Aiko returns to Misora City.
