Timeline
About
Doremi and the girls go on so many adventures, and this timeline chronologically covers all known dates of the events that happen throughout the series. Important things to note include:
- Events: This timeline only covers the events that include Doremi's involvement with magic. Anything else that happens outside of the time period is not included (i.e. Doremi's birthdate).
- Years: It is common practice to have the events of shows in a modern setting to take place in the same year (and same day, if possible) they air, but it shouldn't be assumed that it always happens. I first dismissed this idea until I noticed the girls' calendars: in episode 19 of the original series, Hazuki's calendar for June corresponds to the year 1999, the year the show and episode was first broadcasted; additionally, in episode 3 of Na-i-sho, Doremi's calendar for August corresponds to the year 2001, the year of which the show takes place.
- Birthdays: Toei gave official birthdays for all seven of the main girls in the show. There are some episodes where the girls are seen celebrating them. Momoko is the oldest of the core five, with Onpu being the youngest. Their ages are given accordingly by the Western method, as Japan adopted the Western age method since 1902.
- School: In Japan, students go to school every day except for Sunday. Logically, this would fit according to some of the dates posted because the girls waking up early just to work at the MAHO Dou would be a definite indication that the current day is Sunday. Additionally, school years in Japan start in April and end at the end of March, with only a few breaks in between such as a two-month long summer vacation and Golden Week. In Ojamajo Doremi #, March 25, a Saturday, is the day the school year ends; it is not much longer as the days pass that the girls are in the 4th grade. Assuming that this scheduling is strict, this would indicate that school years at Misora Elementary School would end on the last Saturday of March and begin on the second Monday of April. In Mo~tto!, Onpu blatantly states that the reopening date of the MAHO Dou would be on the 12th of April, and if you count back the days of the previous events, it's seen that school began on April 9, the second Monday of April.
There's bound to be inaccuracy in the events. If you spot a mistake or would like to add a date, feel free to contact me! ♥ Your contribution is heavily appreciated.
