Glossary
About
Unfamiliar with some of the terminology or want a terse description of some of the terms? Ojamajo Doremi has its share of musical terms exclusive to its series. This glossary is constructed in case you're a little confused by what certain words mean.
- Bad Cards (バッドカード)
The king of the Wizard World's magical cards that cause bad luck. Bad Cards are inserted into an object and the item becomes cursed.
- -chan (ちゃん)
Japanese honorific indicating affection for a close friend/someone younger than you. It can be offensive if used on the wrong person.
- FLAT4
A group of boy wizards from the Wizard World, namely consisting of Fujio, Leon, Akatsuki, and Tooru. The first letters of their name in the Roman alphabet spell "flat" and there's four of them, which is how "FLAT4" is interpreted as. The FLAT4 has a motto just like the SOS Trio, which is:
Fujio: Fujio no F! (The F is for Fujio!)
Leon: Leon no L! (The L is for Leon!)
Akatsuki: Akatsuki no A! (The A is for Akatsuki!)
Tooru: Tooru no T! (The T is for Tooru!)
All: Ware wa Mahoutsukaikai no supaasutaa, FLAT4! (We are the superstars of the Wizard World, the FLAT4!)
Later on, Oyajide joins them, forming the FLOAT5. Their motto is exactly the same, except "FLAT4" is now "FLOAT5" and Oyajide says "Oyaji no O!" in between Leon and Akatsuki's lines.
- Magical Stage (マジカル・ステージ)
Magical Stage is a spell that involves the girls combining their powers. Performing Magical Stage casts magic that is two levels higher than the girls' individual magic. The girls each have different Magical Stage spells, but it always starts with the first two segments of their individual spell. The casting sequence is the following:
Doremi: Pirika pirilala nobiyaka ni! (Pirika pirilala, carefreely!)
Hazuki: Paipai ponpoi shinayaka ni! (Paipai ponpoi, flexibly!)
Aiko: Pameruku laluku takaraka ni! (Pameruku laluku, loudly!)
Onpu: Pururun purun suzuyaka ni (Pururun purun, refreshingly!)
Momoko: Perutan petton sawayaka ni! (Perutan petton, clearly!)
All: Magical Stage! (insert command here)
Magical Stage can only be performed if three or more of the witches are present and if they are truly willing to cooperate. Only Hana-chan is not in it because she is a full-blood witch and does not need to perform Magical Stage to display her full extent of power. Pop has only participated in Magical Stage twice, and her spell is "Pipito purito hogaraka ni!" (Pipito purito, brightly!)
